  • 3.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup cornmeal
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1.25 cups warm water
  • 0.25 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
Filling & Sauce
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 0.5 lb Italian sausage cooked
  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes

Method
 

  1. Activate yeast in warm water with sugar until foamy.
  2. Mix dough ingredients and knead until smooth.
  3. Allow dough to rise until doubled.

  5. Press dough into deep dish pan and layer ingredients.
  6. Bake at 425°F until golden and bubbling.
