- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Place bread cubes evenly in dish.
- Whisk milk, cream, sugar, eggs, butter, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour mixture over bread and press gently.
- Add raisins if using and let soak 10 minutes.
- Bake 40–45 minutes until golden and set.
- Heat sauce ingredients until sugar dissolves and stir in vanilla.
- Serve pudding warm with sauce.
Notes
Use stale bread for best texture. Brioche or challah give richer flavor.
