- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook bacon in a skillet until crisp; set aside half for topping.
- Sauté onion in remaining bacon fat until soft, then add garlic.
- Stir in tomato sauce, brown sugar, molasses, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Add beans and water, mixing gently.
- Transfer mixture to baking dish and bake uncovered for 1 hour.
- Top with remaining bacon during last 10 minutes of baking.
- Let rest before serving.
Notes
Adjust sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar.
