Brownie Layer
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt
Pecan Topping
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 0.5 cup light corn syrup
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1.5 cups pecan halves

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate together until smooth. Cool slightly.
  3. Whisk sugars into chocolate mixture. Add eggs and vanilla.
  4. Fold in flour, cocoa powder, and salt just until combined.
  5. Spread brownie batter into prepared pie dish.
  6. Whisk butter, corn syrup, and brown sugar for topping.
  7. Add eggs, vanilla, and salt. Stir in pecans.
  8. Pour pecan mixture over brownie batter.
  9. Bake 45–55 minutes until center is just set.
  10. Cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

For cleaner slices, chill the pie for 1 hour before serving.
