Ingredients
  

Bread & Filling
  • 1 large Italian or French loaf
  • 1.5 lb thinly sliced beef steak ribeye or sirloin
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 1 large green bell pepper sliced
  • 2 cups provolone cheese shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
Garlic Butter
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet.
  2. Cook sliced steak in olive oil with seasonings until just browned. Set aside.
  3. Sauté onions and peppers until soft, then combine with steak.
  4. Mix butter, garlic, parsley, and salt to make garlic butter.
  5. Slice loaf lengthwise, hollow slightly, and spread garlic butter inside.
  6. Layer cheese, steak mixture, and more cheese inside loaf.
  7. Wrap in foil and bake 15 minutes, then unwrap and bake until golden.
  8. Rest briefly, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

Serve immediately for best texture and cheese pull.
