Method
- Slice onions into thick rings and separate layers.
- Mix cream cheese, cheddar, jalapeños, and seasonings until smooth.
- Place smaller ring inside larger ring and fill gap with cheese mixture.
- Freeze stuffed rings 30–45 minutes.
- Prepare flour, egg mixture, and breadcrumb bowls.
- Coat rings in flour, egg, then breadcrumbs. Repeat egg and crumbs.
- Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry rings 2–3 minutes per side until golden.
- Drain on rack and serve hot.
Notes
Freeze before frying to keep cheese from leaking.
