Ingredients
  

Skillet Base
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1.5 lb potatoes peeled and diced
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Heat oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Brown ground beef until fully cooked, then remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté onion and garlic until fragrant.
  4. Add potatoes, seasoning, and broth. Cover and simmer until tender.
  5. Return beef to skillet and stir to combine.
  6. Top with cheese, cover, and cook until melted.

Notes

Use freshly shredded cheese for best melting results.
