Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet or grease a loaf pan.
- Prepare onion glaze by cooking sliced onions in butter until caramelized. Add brown sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire, and balsamic. Simmer and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine all meatloaf base ingredients until just mixed.
- Spread half of the meat mixture into a loaf shape. Add cheese filling down the center.
- Cover with remaining meat mixture, sealing edges.
- Top with onion glaze and bake 50–60 minutes until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Rest 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Ensure the cheese is fully sealed inside to prevent leaking during baking.
