- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch pan with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, mix melted butter with both sugars until smooth.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- Fold in dry ingredients until just combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips and nuts if using.
- Press dough evenly into prepared pan.
- Bake for 22–27 minutes until golden and set.
- Cool completely before slicing.
Notes
For gooier bars, remove from oven slightly underbaked. Add flaky sea salt for a gourmet touch.
