Ingredients
  

Cookie Batter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs large
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts or pecans optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, mix melted butter with both sugars until smooth.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  5. Fold in dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts if using.
  7. Press dough evenly into prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 22–27 minutes until golden and set.
  9. Cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For gooier bars, remove from oven slightly underbaked. Add flaky sea salt for a gourmet touch.
