Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.75 cup warm milk
  • 0.33 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 egg large
Filling
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp instant coffee or espresso powder
Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp brewed coffee strong
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm milk and let it sit until frothy.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, and salt. Add butter, egg, and yeast mixture. Form soft dough.
  3. Knead dough until smooth. Let rise for 1–1.5 hours.
  4. Mix filling ingredients until combined.
  5. Roll dough into rectangle. Spread filling evenly.
  6. Roll dough into log, pinch seam. Cut into 12 slices.
  7. Place slices in greased pan. Let rise 30–45 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes.
  9. Whisk glaze ingredients. Drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

For extra coffee flavor, brush rolls with brewed coffee before baking.
