Method
- Simmer chicken with vegetables and seasonings until tender.
- Remove chicken and shred into large pieces.
- Strain broth and return to pot with butter.
- Combine dry dumpling ingredients and cut in butter.
- Add milk to form a dough and roll thin.
- Cut into strips and simmer in broth.
- Return chicken to pot and heat through.
- Season and serve warm.
Notes
For extra creaminess, stir in 1/2 cup heavy cream before serving.
