Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 4 chicken breasts boneless skinless
  • 2 cups pretzels crushed
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
Cheese Sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1.5 cups milk warm
  • 1.5 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment or a wire rack.
  2. Crush pretzels into coarse crumbs and place in a bowl.
  3. Mix flour with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Whisk eggs with milk in another bowl.
  5. Coat chicken in flour, dip in egg mixture, then press into pretzels.
  6. Place on baking sheet and lightly spray with oil.
  7. Bake 20–25 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  8. Melt butter in saucepan, whisk in flour, then slowly add milk until thickened.
  9. Stir in cheese and seasoning until smooth. Serve with chicken.

Notes

For extra crunch, bake chicken on a wire rack and use coarse pretzel crumbs.
