Dopiazeh Aloo

Ingredients
  

  • 4 potatoes peeled and sliced
  • 3 onions thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 cup water as needed

Method
 

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced onions and cook until soft and lightly golden.
  3. Stir in turmeric and cook briefly until fragrant.
  4. Add potatoes, salt, and black pepper, stirring to coat.
  5. Add water, cover, and simmer until potatoes are tender.
  6. Uncover and cook a few minutes to reduce excess moisture.
  7. Adjust seasoning and serve warm.

Notes

Serve with flatbread and yogurt for a traditional experience.
