- Whisk dry ingredients together in a bowl: flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sugar, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, whisk eggs, melted butter, milk, maple syrup, and vanilla.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients and mix until a thick dough forms.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut donuts with a donut cutter.
- Fry donuts 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown, then cool on wire rack.
- Whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, and vanilla to make glaze.
- Dip donuts in maple glaze and top with crispy bacon pieces.
Notes
Best enjoyed fresh. Use real maple syrup for the richest flavor.
