Ingredients
  

Pastry
  • 2 sheets puff pastry thawed
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries finely diced
Filling
  • 6 oz cream cheese softened
  • 0.33 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Finishing
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar for topping

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Fold in diced strawberries gently.
  4. Cut puff pastry into rectangles and create heart cutouts on half.
  5. Fill pastry bottoms with strawberry cream cheese mixture.
  6. Top with cut pastry pieces and seal edges.
  7. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar.
  8. Bake 18–22 minutes until golden. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Do not overfill pastries to prevent leaking during baking.
