Ingredients
  

Pastry
  • 2 sheets puff pastry thawed
Filling
  • 0.5 cup strawberry preserves
  • 0.5 cup fresh strawberries finely chopped
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 0.25 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg for egg wash

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out puff pastry and cut into rectangles. Lightly score heart shapes inside each piece.
  3. Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Fill center of hearts with cream cheese mixture and strawberry filling.
  5. Brush edges with egg wash and bake 18–22 minutes until golden.

Notes

Do not overfill to keep pastry crisp.
