Envelope Roast

A rich, tender, and incredibly easy three-packet roast made with ranch, Italian, and brown gravy mixes. Melts in your mouth with minimal prep.

Ingredients
  

Roast
  • 3-4 lb chuck roast
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix
  • 1 packet Italian dressing seasoning mix
  • 1 cup beef broth or water
Optional Vegetables
  • 2 cups carrots sliced
  • 1 cup onions sliced
  • 2 cups baby potatoes

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Place chuck roast in slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle ranch, gravy, and Italian seasoning packets over the roast.
  3. Pour beef broth around the roast.
  4. Add optional vegetables around the meat.
  5. Cook on LOW for 8-10 hours or HIGH for 4-5 hours.
  6. Shred or slice and serve with gravy.

Notes

For extra gravy, add a second brown gravy packet or more broth.
