Pizza Base
  • 1 loaf French bread sliced lengthwise
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
Toppings
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup pepperoni slices
  • 0.25 cup black olives sliced
  • 0.25 cup bell peppers sliced

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place sliced French bread on baking sheet and brush with olive oil and garlic.
  3. Toast bread in oven for 5–7 minutes until lightly crisp.
  4. Spread marinara sauce evenly over toasted bread.
  5. Top with shredded mozzarella and desired toppings.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from oven, garnish if desired, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

Pre-toasting the bread ensures a crispy base and prevents sogginess.
