Ingredients
  

Strawberry Filling
  • 6 cups fresh strawberries hulled and halved
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
Cobbler Topping
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.33 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 0.25 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • 0.75 cup milk or buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Mix strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, cornstarch, vanilla, and salt. Pour into baking dish.
  3. Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  4. Cut cold butter into dry ingredients until crumbly.
  5. Stir in milk and vanilla just until combined.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough over strawberry filling.
  7. Bake 35–45 minutes until topping is golden and filling is bubbly.
  8. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Best served warm with vanilla ice cream. Adjust sugar depending on strawberry sweetness.
