Method
- Melt butter and chocolate together until smooth. Cool slightly.
- Beat sugars and eggs for 3–4 minutes until pale and thick.
- Add vanilla and melted chocolate mixture and mix until smooth.
- Whisk flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Fold into wet mixture.
- Fold in chocolate chips. Chill dough for 15–20 minutes until scoopable.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Scoop dough onto baking sheets, leaving space for spreading.
- Bake 10–12 minutes until tops are shiny and edges set. Cool on a wire rack.
Notes
For extra shine on top, beat eggs and sugars longer. Do not overbake.
