Method
- Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Sprinkle with half the nuts.
- In a saucepan, melt butter, sugar, and salt over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Continue cooking until the mixture reaches 300°F or turns deep golden, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour toffee over the nuts and spread evenly with a heatproof spatula.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips on top, let melt for 2 minutes, then spread evenly.
- Top with remaining nuts and let cool completely before breaking into pieces.
Notes
For extra shine, do not refrigerate the toffee during cooling; let it set at room temperature.
