  • 1 lb ground beef lean
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup mushrooms sliced
  • 1 onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 0.75 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Pot for noodles
  • Wooden spoon

Method
 

  1. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add onion and cook until softened. Stir in garlic and mushrooms and cook until mushrooms are browned.
  4. Add ground beef and cook until fully browned.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the beef mixture and stir for 1 minute.
  6. Slowly add beef broth while stirring. Simmer until thickened.
  7. Reduce heat and stir in sour cream. Season with salt and pepper.
  8. Add cooked noodles, toss to coat, and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, do not boil the sauce after adding sour cream.
