- Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C) and grease a 9-inch pie dish.
- Mix shredded hash browns with melted butter, salt, and pepper.
- Press hash browns into the pie dish to form a crust.
- Bake crust for 20–25 minutes until golden and crisp.
- Reduce oven temperature to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook bacon until crispy, then chop into pieces.
- Whisk eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Sprinkle half the cheese onto the crust, then add bacon and onions.
- Pour egg mixture over the filling.
- Top with remaining cheese and bake 35–40 minutes until set.
