Ingredients
  

Hash Brown Crust
  • 4 cups shredded hash browns thawed
  • 4 tbsp melted butter
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
Filling
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon cooked and chopped
  • 6 eggs large
  • 1 cup milk or half-and-half
  • 1.5 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 0.25 cup diced onion or green onion
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp pepper
  • 0.25 tsp garlic powder optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C) and grease a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. Mix shredded hash browns with melted butter, salt, and pepper.
  3. Press hash browns into the pie dish to form a crust.
  4. Bake crust for 20–25 minutes until golden and crisp.
  5. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Cook bacon until crispy, then chop into pieces.
  7. Whisk eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  8. Sprinkle half the cheese onto the crust, then add bacon and onions.
  9. Pour egg mixture over the filling.
  10. Top with remaining cheese and bake 35–40 minutes until set.

Notes

Let quiche cool slightly before slicing for clean cuts.
