Ingredients
  

Apple Fritters
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.33 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg optional
  • 2 eggs large
  • 0.75 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 2 cups apples peeled and diced
Vanilla Glaze
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tbsp milk or cream

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Deep skillet or pot
  • Wire rack
  • Slotted spoon

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, whisk dry ingredients together.
  2. In another bowl, whisk wet ingredients until smooth.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients just until mixed.
  4. Fold diced apples into batter.
  5. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Drop spoonfuls of batter into oil and fry until golden brown.
  7. Drain fritters on wire rack.
  8. Whisk glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm fritters.

Notes

Serve warm for best texture and flavor.
