- In a bowl, mix cooled mashed potatoes, melted butter, and salt until smooth.
- Gradually add flour and mix gently until a soft dough forms.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and shape into a round about 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut the round into four equal wedges.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter or oil.
- Cook farls for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and heated through.
- Serve warm with butter or as part of a traditional Irish breakfast.
Notes
Best made with plain leftover mashed potatoes. Adjust flour depending on moisture level.
