  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese divided
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 1 green bell pepper diced
  • 1 red bell pepper diced
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 tomato chopped
  • 1 can diced green chiles 4 oz
Filling
  • Optional garnishes like jalapeños or cilantro

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 dish and parbake the biscuits for 8 minutes.
  2. Brown the ground beef, drain fat, add taco seasoning and water, and simmer until thickened.
  3. Mix sour cream, mayonnaise, 1 cup cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  4. Combine bell peppers, onion, tomato, and green chiles.
  5. Layer biscuits, beef, vegetables, and the sour-cream mixture.
  6. Top with remaining cheese and bake for 30–35 minutes until bubbly.
  7. Let rest 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish and serve.

Notes

Letting it rest helps the layers set for cleaner slices.
