Ingredients
  

Beef
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce low sodium
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes optional
Broccoli
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
Serving
  • 3 cups cooked jasmine rice
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Cook rice according to package instructions.
  2. Sauté broccoli in olive oil with a pinch of salt until tender-crisp, then set aside.
  3. Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat and drain excess grease.
  4. Add garlic and ginger and cook until fragrant.
  5. Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer briefly.
  6. Return broccoli to pan and toss to coat in sauce.
  7. Serve beef and broccoli over rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Add gochujang for extra spice or top with a fried egg for richness.
