- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare cake pans.
- Whisk dry ingredients together in a bowl.
- Cream butter and sugars until fluffy, then add eggs and vanilla.
- Mix in bananas, then alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk.
- Bake 30–35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Beat frosting ingredients until smooth and spread over cooled cake.
Notes
For best flavor, use very ripe bananas with brown spots.
