Ingredients
  

Cookie Bars
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup M&Ms
Optional Toppings
  • 0.25 cup white chocolate chips optional
  • sprinkles optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in M&Ms gently.
  7. Spread dough evenly in the prepared pan. Sprinkle extra M&Ms and optional toppings.
  8. Bake 20–25 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Cool completely before cutting.

Notes

These bars can be stored in an airtight container or frozen for later.
