Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in M&Ms gently.
- Spread dough evenly in the prepared pan. Sprinkle extra M&Ms and optional toppings.
- Bake 20–25 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Cool completely before cutting.
