Ingredients
  

Pie Filling
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 1 lb ground pork sausage
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese shredded
  • 3 eggs large
  • 1 cup milk or half-and-half
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp paprika optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place unbaked pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate.
  2. Cook ground sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Add diced onion and cook until softened. Drain excess grease.
  3. Spread sausage and onion mixture into the pie crust and sprinkle Monterey Jack cheese on top.
  4. Whisk eggs, milk, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and paprika together until smooth.
  5. Pour egg mixture evenly over sausage and cheese in crust.
  6. Bake 35–40 minutes, or until center is set and top is lightly golden.
  7. Let rest 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra richness, substitute milk with half-and-half. Pie can be frozen baked or unbaked.
