- Prepare an 8×8 pan with parchment or grease lightly.
- Combine sugar, milk, butter, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat until butter melts and sugar dissolves.
- Continue cooking to soft-ball stage (235°F), stirring regularly.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Fold in chopped nuts quickly before mixture stiffens.
- Spread mixture evenly into prepared pan.
- Cool completely, then cut into squares.
Notes
Toast the nuts for extra flavor, and allow the candy to cool completely for clean slicing.
