Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment or foil.
- Arrange crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.
- Melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook 2–3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt.
- Pour caramel over crackers and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle pecans over the top.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips on top if using and allow to melt.
- Cool completely, then break into pieces.
Notes
For clean squares, slice before bark fully hardens.
