Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a casserole dish.
- Season pork chops with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Heat oil in a skillet and sear pork chops on both sides.
- Sauté sliced onions and garlic in the same skillet.
- Layer potatoes, onions, apples, sauerkraut, and caraway seeds in the casserole dish.
- Place seared pork chops on top of the sauerkraut layer.
- Pour chicken broth or apple cider evenly over the dish.
- Cover with foil and bake for 60 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake an additional 20–25 minutes.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a sweeter variation, add extra apples or a splash of apple cider.
