Ingredients
  

Cake Layers
  • 2 sleeves Ritz crackers
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 0.5 tsp sea salt
Filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 0.33 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp butter optional
  • crushed Ritz crackers for garnish

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Warm caramel sauce until pourable and stir in sea salt.
  2. Beat softened cream cheese and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Whip heavy cream and vanilla extract to stiff peaks.
  4. Fold whipped cream into cream cheese mixture.
  5. Layer Ritz crackers in the bottom of an 8x8 dish.
  6. Spread cream mixture over crackers and drizzle with caramel.
  7. Repeat layers until dish is full.
  8. Top with more caramel and crushed Ritz crackers.
  9. Refrigerate at least 6 hours or overnight.
  10. Slice and serve chilled.

Notes

For best results, chill overnight. Taste improves after 24 hours.
