Ingredients
  

Salisbury Steak Patties
  • 1.5 lb ground beef
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 0.25 cup grated onion
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
Potatoes
  • 1.5 lb baby potatoes halved
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
Gravy
  • 1 cup sliced onions
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch mixed with water

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet

  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, Worcestershire, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Shape into patties.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet and brown patties on both sides; remove and set aside.
  3. Add potatoes to skillet and sear until golden; remove and set aside.
  4. Add onions and mushrooms to skillet; sauté until softened.
  5. Add broth, Worcestershire, mustard, and cornstarch slurry. Whisk until thickened.
  6. Return patties and potatoes to skillet, cover, and simmer until cooked through.
  7. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

For extra richness, add 1/4 cup heavy cream to the gravy.
