Ingredients
  

Dutch Baby Batter
  • 3 eggs large
  • 0.5 cup whole milk
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
Toppings
  • 4 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 0.75 cup shredded cheese cheddar, gruyere, or swiss
  • 1 tbsp chives chopped, optional garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Place a cast iron skillet in the oven to heat.
  2. In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, flour, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Carefully remove hot skillet and add butter, swirling to coat.
  4. Pour batter into skillet and top evenly with bacon and cheese.
  5. Bake 15–18 minutes until puffed and golden.
  6. Remove from oven, garnish with chives, slice, and serve immediately.

Notes

Best served fresh while hot and puffed. Customize with vegetables or different cheeses for variation.
