Ingredients
  

Cookie Batter
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter browned and cooled
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups pecans toasted and chopped
  • 1.5 cups chocolate chips or chunks

Method
 

  1. Brown the butter in a saucepan until golden and fragrant. Let cool completely.
  2. Toast pecans at 350°F (175°C) for 5–7 minutes and chop once cooled.
  3. Beat browned butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  5. Whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  6. Combine wet and dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  7. Fold in toasted pecans and chocolate chips.
  8. Chill dough for 1 hour.
  9. Scoop onto baking sheets and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden.

Notes

Resting dough for several hours enhances flavor.
