Ingredients
  

Beef
  • 1 lb flank steak thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
Sauce
  • 0.5 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup hoisin sauce
  • 0.33 cup brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 0.5 cup beef broth
Noodles
  • 12 oz wheat noodles or lo mein

Equipment

  • Large skillet or wok
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Pot for noodles

Method
 

  1. Toss sliced beef with soy sauce and cornstarch. Set aside.
  2. Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  3. Whisk together all sauce ingredients until smooth.
  4. Sear beef in hot oil until browned and just cooked. Remove from pan.
  5. Add sauce to the pan and simmer until thickened.
  6. Return beef and noodles to the pan. Toss until coated and sticky.

Notes

Slice beef thinly against the grain for best texture.
