- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
- Slice onions into 1/2-inch half-moons and separate layers.
- Spread onions evenly in the casserole dish.
- Sprinkle onions with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Pour melted butter evenly over the onions.
- Drizzle Worcestershire sauce over the onions for added flavor.
- Top with shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
- If using, mix crushed Ritz crackers with melted butter and sprinkle over the top.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until onions are tender and cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let sit 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Vidalia onions are ideal for sweetness. Add red pepper flakes for a spicy version.
