Ingredients
  

Mozzarella Sticks
  • 12 mozzarella cheese sticks full-fat
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs large
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

  • Baking sheet

  • Deep skillet or fryer

Method
 

  1. Freeze mozzarella sticks for at least 1 hour.
  2. Prepare flour, egg mixture, and seasoned breadcrumbs in separate bowls.
  3. Dredge cheese sticks in flour, dip in egg, and coat in breadcrumbs.
  4. Repeat egg and breadcrumb coating for a double breading.
  5. Freeze breaded sticks for 30 minutes.
  6. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Fry mozzarella sticks until golden brown, about 2 minutes.
  8. Drain on paper towels and serve immediately.

Notes

Freeze thoroughly to prevent cheese leaks.
