Ingredients
  

Cake Batter
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 eggs large
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk or buttermilk
Cinnamon Swirl
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
Vanilla Glaze
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp milk or cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to form a smooth batter.
  6. Combine brown sugar, flour, butter, and cinnamon for the swirl.
  7. Spread half the batter into the pan, add cinnamon swirl, then top with remaining batter.
  8. Bake 40–45 minutes until set. Cool slightly, drizzle with glaze, slice, and serve.

Notes

For best texture, use room temperature ingredients and avoid overmixing the batter.
