Stack Components
  • 4 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 2 eggs large
  • 2 English muffins or bread slices
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter for toasting and cooking
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp lemon juice optional
  • 1-2 tbsp hollandaise sauce or melted butter optional
  • fresh chives or parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. Place bacon in a cold skillet over medium heat and cook until crisp. Drain on paper towels and keep warm.
  2. Split and butter the English muffins or bread. Toast until golden.
  3. In the same skillet, add a little butter if needed and cook eggs to desired doneness. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Assemble each stack by placing toasted bread on a plate, layering with bacon, and topping with an egg.
  5. Drizzle with hollandaise or butter, add lemon juice if using, and garnish with fresh herbs. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a runny yolk, cook eggs sunny-side up or over-easy. Customize with cheese, avocado, or hot sauce for added flavor.
