White Sauce Penne Pasta

A creamy and comforting penne pasta tossed in a rich homemade white sauce with garlic and Parmesan.

Ingredients
  

  • 250 g penne pasta
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk warm
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

  • Saucepan

  • Wooden spoon

Method
 

  1. Cook penne pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat butter and olive oil in a pan. Sauté garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add flour and cook briefly, stirring continuously.
  4. Gradually whisk in warm milk until smooth and thickened.
  5. Season with salt and pepper and stir in Parmesan cheese.
  6. Add cooked pasta and toss to coat evenly.
  7. Serve hot with extra cheese and herbs if desired.
